Paddock Facilities and Rules

Welcome to Woofing Around @ Simpson Green Farm.
YOUR local, secure dog walking facility!
Situated on a farm in Idle, Bradford, the paddock itself measures approximately 50x26 metres and sits within an existing, larger field with views out across the valley towards Yeadon and Horsforth (it really is amazing, especially during the summer months). The farm itself is a working DIY livery yard and currently houses 14 horses.
The paddock is enclosed with secure stock and stake fencing comprising 4ft dog netting and two strands of plain wire taking it up to a total height of 5ft. To prevent horses which may be grazing in the fields adjacent to the paddock accessing and damaging the main perimeter fence line, it is surrounded by a secondary (electrified) fence.
Within the paddock there is timber shelter with a seating area to protect you from the elements, and towards the bottom there is a picnic bench.
Adjacent to the paddock is a large, gated car parking area which allows you to exit your vehicle safely without fear of your pooch getting loose – simply drive in, close the gate behind you and prepare for entry into the paddock!
Within the car parking area is a small wash off area where you can fill the water bowl (provided) and wash muddy paws, bellies and wellies before re-entering your vehicle and leaving the premises.
We politely request that you pick up after their dogs AT ALL TIMES whilst using the facility. Poop bags are provided free of charge.
A selection of toys are available for use whilst visiting the paddock. We ask that these are returned before leaving.
There is also a selection of agility obstacles, including a sandpit for your pooches to enjoy!
PLEASE NOTE: For your safety and security, live recording CCTV is now in operation throughout the facility and covers the main paddock, car park and waiting area. Any issues/incidents MUST be reported to the facility owner IMMEDIATELY. Please contact Becki on 07763842424.
Rules/Terms of Use
We want your visit to be as straightforward and pleasant as possible and ask that whilst using the facility, the following rules are abided by:
· Please take care whilst driving around to the facility which is situated around the back of the farm buildings. To access the facility users are required to drive through our livery yard so we ask that they drive cautiously and stay alert for pedestrians, animals, and other vehicles. 5 miles per hour is the MAXIMUM driving speed in respect of this.
· Users must ensure that the facility is suitable for use by their dog(s) prior to using it (e.g. Size, fence style/height, ground conditions etc). Our fencing comprises 4ft dog netting and two strands of plain wire taking it to a total height of approximately 5ft. This style of fencing was chosen so as to remain as sympathetic as possible to the local surroundings and environment. PLEASE NOTE: If sitting in the shelter, users WILL NOT have a clear view of the facility in its entirety. Users are asked to ensure that their dog(s) are in sight AT ALL TIMES during their session.
· Users must ensure that the entry gate into the car parking area is securely closed prior to removing their dog(s) from vehicles. PLEASE NOTE: Our liability begins ONLY once users have entered the car park and closed the gate behind them.
· The car parking area allows for a MAXIMUM of two cars on site at any time. Please see below for our FULL car parking conditions.
· Where users arrive before their allotted session time, we ask they park/wait OUTSIDE of the car park in the dedicated waiting area.
· Users must ensure that the facility is suitable for use by their dog(s) prior to using it (e.g. Size, fence style/height, ground conditions etc).
· Once inside the paddock, users are STRONGLY advised to secure the gate using the bolt located at the top to prevent anyone from entering during their session. We also recommend that they use the occupied/vacant sign to make sure that subsequent users are aware that the paddock is in use.
· Users are responsible for their dog(s) AT ALL TIMES whilst using the facility.
· Users may bring a MAXIMUM of 8 dogs onsite per session and MUST be in full control of, and capable of handling the number of dogs brought on to site AT ALL TIMES.
· Users of the facility should ensure that their dog(s) are fully up to date with any vaccinations, flea and worming treatments.
· Physical and/or verbal abuse of dogs IS NOT tolerated at any time. Users seen treating their dog(s) in such ways will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
· Children are welcome on site, however users are responsible for them AT ALL TIMES. Those 16 and under MUST always be accompanied by an adult.
· Users are asked to ensure that they leave on time in order to prevent the next booking from having to wait. Time slots include the unloading and loading of dogs, not just the use of the paddock itself. Users should ensure that their dog(s) are secured in vehicles/on leads during any crossover periods AT ALL TIMES.
· Users are required to pick up after their dogs AT ALL TIMES whilst using the facility. Poop Bags are provided free of charge. Users are asked to dispose of poop bags in the onsite bin provided. We politely request that users pick up any ‘rogue’ poops (missed by prior users) wherever possible to keep the facility as clean as possible at all times.
· Glass is not permitted on site AT ANY TIME.
· Toys are provided for use whilst in the paddock. Users are entirely responsible for their dog’s use of the toys, and we ask that toys are returned prior to leaving the facility. Any broken/chewed up toys must be removed from the facility immediately to prevent further use. Please contact Becki on the following number should you find any broken/chewed up toys within the facility – 07763842424.
· A variety of agility obstacles are situated within the paddock, including a sandpit. The agility obstacles and sandpit are designed and created for use by dogs ONLY, and as such are not suitable for adults/children. Users are entirely responsible for their dog’s use of the equipment AT ALL TIMES. Any damaged/broken equipment should be reported in the first instance. Please contact Becki on 07763842424.
· Treats are provided free of charge within the facility. Users are entirely responsible for any treats (and any after effects of such) given to their dog(s) whilst using the facility.
· Please note that the field may be uneven underfoot in some areas due to the lay of the land upon which the paddock is situated. Users are encouraged to wear suitable footwear when visiting the facility as per the weather conditions at the time of their visit.
· No smoking, drinking alcohol or substance use is permitted whilst using the facility.
· Users (or anyone accompanying them) are asked NOT to climb on the fencing, gates, agility equipment, picnic bench or shelter at any time. Damage to the facility MUST be reported to the facility owner immediately.
· Users must ensure that the facility is left as it is found and that ALL gates are securely closed prior to leaving site.
· Users are asked that should they recognise signs of illness (e.g. Kennel Cough or Parvo Virus) in their dog(s) that they refrain from using the facility until their dog(s) have fully recovered. Users are asked to contact us via email/telephone where dog(s) show signs of illness WITHIN the 6 hour cancellation period and we will happily reschedule their booking to a later date.
· Woofing Around reserves the right to cancel sessions without prior notice, for example due to facility damage which might render it unsafe for use temporarily. Where this is the case, we will contact users direct via email/telephone at the earliest opportunity and any monies paid will be refunded via their original payment method.
Car Parking & Crossover Periods
If arriving by car users should do the following:
Park WITHIN the designated car parking area – this is linked to the paddock and accessible through a large steel gate. This allows for the safe loading/unloading of dogs prior to entering the paddock.
Where users arrive ahead of their planned session time they are asked to park/wait in the designated waiting area OUTSIDE of the car parking area. Once the previous customer has safely exited the facility, they may then enter the car park.
Users are asked to ensure that dogs are contained within cars, or on leads (if arriving by foot) until they have entered the car parking area safely and the gate is closed and secured behind them.
Horses
Users of the facility should be aware that the paddock sits within a larger field on a DIY livery yard, therefore, horses may be seen in the fields adjacent to the paddock for any of the following reasons:
1, Grazing purposes – for example if other fields are not accessible due to spraying etc.
2, Health/medical reasons – for example, to graze a smaller, designated area within the field adjoining the paddock as part of rehabilitation or limitation of grazing.
3, Schooling – our livery customers regularly school their horses (particularly during summer months) in the riding arena which is visible from the paddock.
4, Our livery customers often bring their horses up through the field adjacent to the paddock to access their stables etc.
Where horses will be grazing in the field adjoining the paddock for any length of time, announcements will be made on our website and social media pages.
Users are entirely responsible for ensuring that our facility is a suitable environment for their dogs in view of the above.
Users are asked NOT to feed the horses AT ANY TIME.
Please be aware that the secondary fencing around the paddock is electrified to prevent the horses from reaching/damaging the main paddock fencing, and SHOULD NOT be touched AT ANY TIME!
Banned Breeds listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (DDA 1991)
Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are still welcome to use the facility, however, in line with government guidelines AND for our own insurance purposes we ask that the owners of these dogs take the following precautions when using the facility to ensure that ALL users are safe and protected.
· Owners of these dogs MUST be over the age of 16 to book/use the facility.
· Owners MUST hold a valid certificate of exemption for the dog(s). (We do not need to see these prior to using the facility, however this should be available upon request at any point)
· These dogs MUST be comprehensively insured (for example, against injuring other people/dogs).
· Owners MUST ensure that their dogs are microchipped.
· Owners MUST ensure that their dogs are neutered.
· Owners MUST ensure that when visiting the facility, their dogs are kept on a lead/secured in cars and muzzled AT ALL TIMES (including within the car park area) up until the point that their dog has safely entered the field itself. Once inside the field owners MUST ensure that the gate is securely bolted from the inside to prevent other people/dogs from entering during their session. Once safely inside the field owners are then permitted to remove muzzles/leads should they deem appropriate.
Woofing Around politely asks that owners of banned breeds attend on a household ONLY basis. That is, where the dog(s) share a permanent living space with other attending dogs/breeds. Where multiple owners from different households attend, and let their dogs intermingle, they do so ENTIRELY at their own risk and Woofing Around accepts NO responsibility for any resulting incidents.
PLEASE NOTE: The car parking area is deemed as a ‘public area/space’ due the potential for dogs to be in the vicinity of one another during crossover periods.
Extreme Weather
Please note that where the weather is deemed as extreme (e.g. unusually high temperatures) we reserve the right to close the facility temporarily and/or reduce opening times to suit, without prior notice. Any users with sessions already booked will be contacted via text message and given the option to reschedule their session or accept a full refund.
Where to facility remains open it is the users responsibility to check weather conditions and decide whether or not to attend their session. Woofing Around will gladly reschedule sessions where users prefer not to attend due to extreme weather conditions but refunds will not be offered.
The facility is regularly inspected by ourselves, however, we ask users to contact us straight away on the number below should they have any concerns or notice any issues such as broken or damaged fencing.
We hope that you and your pooches enjoy your time whilst using the facility!
