Hello, I’m Becki - owner of Woofing Around @ Simpson Green Farm!

Based on a local farm in Idle (BD10) I also run a small DIY livery yard and have four spaniels, five cats, eleven ducks, fifteen hens, a cockerel and two horses (plus twelve liveries)!

Believe it or not, I first had the idea for Woofing Around back in May 2021 – FINALLY, in 2023 my vision came to life and here we have Woofing Around!

Living on a local farm we noticed the huge growth in dog ownership locally, particularly following the national lockdown/Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, we were also noticing an increase in incidents involving dogs whilst out walking, not just locally but nationally too! We ourselves have a reactive dog and have found it difficult to take her out and about locally for fear of bumping into other dogs – even on the lead, it’s not a comfortable experience for any of us. We were also noticing a marked increase in dog walkers using our fields to exercise their dogs which was concerning given that horses from our livery yard graze there regularly during the summer months.

So, I decided to create a safe and secure space for dog owners to come along and exercise their pooches, free from the worry of running into other dogs (or humans)!

If you’ve bumped into me at the facility (you’ll often see me in my wellies (or bright pink Crocs) and up to my eyes in mud), you’ll know that I’m SUPER passionate about it! I’m not exaggerating when I say that it’s literally like a fourth child! I absolutely adore seeing all the different doggies and getting to meet the owners!
